Because Mr. Tinh (Trung Dung) planted in her mind the fear that Mr. Manh (Cao Minh Dat) would give all the assets to Thinh (Bach Cong Khanh), for a long time, Mrs. Tu (Le Phuong) has been secretly keeping them for herself and her children.
Years ago, listening to Mr. Tinh's advice, Mrs. Tu took advantage of Mr. Manh's grief after the death of Mrs. Lieu (Trang Tuyen) to trick him into signing and then forging documents, appropriating a large amount of assets. After many years of smooth sailing, Thinh returned home and demanded to see all the documents and books, making Mrs. Tu nervous and afraid.
Being intelligent and well-educated, it was not difficult for Thinh to discover that the land documents showed signs of being forged. However, because he did not want his father to worry, he decided to clarify everything himself before reporting to his father.
Hearing Thinh tell Mr. Manh that he would soon go to Saigon to meet some friends working in the court to ask for more information about the documents, Mrs. Tu was afraid that Thinh had become suspicious and worried that the secret would be revealed, so she quickly ran to find Mr. Tinh to discuss how to deal with it.
Mr. Tinh took the opportunity to express his feelings, saying he was willing to do anything for Mrs. Tu. Mrs. Tu avoided him, clearly drawing the line between master and servant, only wanting to cooperate for mutual benefit with Mr. Tinh. After many years of dreaming but still not having Mrs. Tu, Mr. Tinh had to give up hope, accepting his fate as a person sharing the same boat of interests with his boss. To cover up the secret of the fake documents, Mrs. Tu and Mr. Tinh conspired to hire someone to crash the car and cause an accident in order to take Thinh's life.
As if foreshadowing something bad, that night Truc (Le Tam Trieu Dang) dreamed that while walking with Thinh, Thinh disappeared, and everything around him suddenly became dark. Anxiety and fear enveloped the little girl's mind, as disaster struck her lover...
