Seeing An always feeling uncomfortable with her presence in this house, Truc did not want to bother her sister anymore so she decided to leave. She did not return to her hometown Cai Lay, nor to her fiance's house in Go Cong, but would go to Cao Lanh to live with her aunt Chin (Thanh Ngoc).
To keep Truc, Thinh (Bach Cong Khanh) had to use tricks. He refused to eat, lay in bed without saying anything, making the whole family worried.
Truc sweetly coaxed Thinh and promised to read him a story, and Thinh became cheerful again. That evening, An had an appointment with Bao, so he asked Truc to come over to his room to watch Thinh.
Truc saw Thinh sleeping on the chair and wondered. Through Thinh's words, Truc learned that An and Thinh did not sleep together. She did not expect that An was only kind to Thinh in front of everyone but treated him badly behind his back.
Truc did not blame An because her mother had trapped An into this marriage, but she felt she needed to stay to take care of Thinh, and could not bear to leave at this time. Thinh secretly blamed himself for being selfish for making Truc feel awkward because of him, but he could not let her leave like that.
Mr. Manh (Cao Minh Dat) is very happy that Truc decided to stay. Although he respects Truc's choice, he really doesn't feel at ease if Truc leaves.
An increasingly wanted to prove her position so she treated Truc like a master and servant. She always used the excuse of worrying about Truc to prevent Truc from getting close to Bao and manipulated Bao to give up thinking about Truc with the reason that Truc was engaged to someone else.
Truc has always been grateful to An, from the fact that An agreed to come here to be her daughter-in-law, to the fact that An took care of her mother when she was away, and now she is still by her side at this time, so she happily does whatever An asks her to do, without hesitation or anger. Moreover, she knows that she is staying at someone else's house, and she cannot afford to do nothing.
Seeing Truc doing the work of a servant in the house, Bao felt sorry and indignant, loudly blaming his mother and sister-in-law for bullying Truc. Truc felt embarrassed, and Mrs. Tu and An were angry when Bao opposed them because of Truc.
