What makes Duyen's role in the film of the same name different from the roles that made her famous before?
Previously, the audience often knew me through action and thorny roles. But the role of Duyen is a completely different color, it can be said to be the most special in my career so far. This character does not follow the usual model of a gentle, gentle female lead.
Duyen is also the first female lead role I have participated in for Vinh Long Television, so my coverage with the audience is much better than previous films.
So which factor in you convinced the director and producer, especially when you accepted the casting in a rather special situation?
At the time of receiving the casting invitation, I was abroad with my family. Because I love the script and characters so much, I decided to cast online - an unprecedented experience in my life. I filmed a part myself and sent it to the crew. As soon as I received the invitation to return to Vietnam to participate in the live casting round, I asked my family for permission to return, even though it was close to Tet.
I think it is the determination, work priority and burning passion that convinced the producer.
Paired with an experienced actor with a large fan base like Nhan Phuc Vinh, do you feel pressured?
On the contrary, I feel very comfortable and am very supported by Mr. Nhan Phuc Vinh. During heavy psychological stages, he often helps me recall the flow of emotions from the previous scene to have the best connection.
In particular, the film has many professional lines about agriculture, the chemical formula is very difficult to remember. Vinh with his wonderful memory showed me the secrets to learn the lines more effectively.
What was your most memorable memory during filming "Duyen"?
Those were scenes filmed in the rain at night. One day, after a day of filming in the sun, I had to film in a rain of sky-high artificial opportunity with strong winds at 2am. When I finished filming, my whole body trembled because of the cold.
At times like that, the attention of the whole crew, from a cup of hot ginger tea to urgent questions, really made me really appreciate it.
Up to now, she has had a long journey with art. What brought you to this path?
I have been involved in art since grade 2 (in 2007), when my mother registered me to attend modeling and vocal classes to improve my shyness.
At the age of 13, I became a member of the TVM music group and was active for 8 years. The turning point in my acting career was when director Nguyen Quang Dung chose me for a role in his movie. That was the premise for me to step into seventh art.
What role does the family play in Tang Huynh Nhu's career, especially when her mother settles abroad?
The year I decided to turn to acting was also the year my mother went abroad. My mother once suggested that I go with her because she was afraid that no one would take care of her daughter in Vietnam alone.
At that time, I asked my mother for 5 years to prove that the path I chose was the right one. I rushed into work, sometimes accepting 3 films at the same time, to show my mother that I am strong and can be independent. For me, my career is a top priority, and I always want to prove that my choice is worthy.
Tang Huynh Nhu shared that her parents have not lived together since she was only 4 years old. How has this affected your psychology and personality?
I grew up around my grandparents and relatives, not spending much time with my parents.
Perhaps because I have lived in a situation of lack of affection since I was a child, in the future when I look at all problems, I often tend to be cautious and have a hard time opening up to the surrounding relationships. However, on the positive side, it was that thornyness that helped me protect myself and limit unnecessary troubles, helping me focus completely on my career.
