At the event, Miss Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy appeared in an outfit called Lotus Silk by young designer Bui Cong Thien Bao. This is Thanh Thuy's National Costume at Miss International 2024.
Previously, Sen Silk won second prize at the National Cultural Costume competition within the framework of Miss Grand Vietnam 2024, under the mentor team of designer Vu Lan Anh.
Designer Bui Cong Thien Bao shared about the meaning of the costume: “It is called Lotus Silk because each raw material woven into the silk is a silk thread drawn from the lotus stem brought up from the pond. Woven into fabric, the silk threads are as thin as dew, with the softness and smoothness of natural silk, and also have the noble scent of the lotus - a pure flower.
Not only is it the value of creativity but it also inspires love for the nation and nature to the community and fashion lovers. Lotus silk products and precious lotus materials are also the beauty of Vietnamese culture, the quintessence of Vietnamese weaving and fashion.
At the introduction of Thanh Thuy to Miss International, Master Pham Kim Dung - National Director of Miss International Vietnam also shared: "We expect and entrust our thoughts to Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, not putting pressure on her. We hope Thanh Thuy enjoys her time in Japan, showing the beauty of Vietnamese women in the beauty of virtue - beauty - speech - virtue at the contest that respects friendship between countries".
After that, Master Pham Kim Dung conducted the ceremony of handing over the Miss International Vietnam 2024 sash to Miss Thanh Thuy.
Runner-up Pham Ngoc Phuong Anh - Miss International Vietnam 2022 also presented flowers and sent words of encouragement to Miss Thanh Thuy.
After accepting her new role, Thanh Thuy shared her feelings and determination.
Miss International 2024 will be the 62nd Miss International pageant, with the finals scheduled to take place on November 12, 2024 in Japan.
