Instead of just focusing on the function of a set of costumes, Thuy Nguyen approaches ao dai as an art space. Each design is a complete composition, where flowers, leaves, mascots and colors are arranged with the thinking of a visual artist. This is why Tet collections from her often bring the feeling of an exhibition rather than a purely fashion show.
The designer's strength lies in the ability to transform old cultural materials into a new shaping language. Familiar images such as folk paintings or animal paintings are limited in lines, combined with modern color palettes to create contrast but still harmonious. This approach helps designs avoid the burden of nostalgia, while not indulging in extreme innovation.

Based on traditional shapes, surface treatment techniques are focused on such as creating a unique mark for each fabric, creating softness and movement, applying the osmotic effect (Ombre) to bring visual depth when the wearer moves.
In this collection, Thuy Nguyen does not repeat Tet symbols reluctantly. Instead, the New Year atmosphere is conveyed through emotions and visual memories. It is a mature fashion language, where femininity is expressed through confidence and brilliance in moderation.
For Thuy Nguyen, Tet ao dai is not simply a festival costume, but a means for women to express their connection with their personal identity in the early days of the new year.
