She plays the role of a beauty salon owner named Xuan - a character related to the rituals of the underworld and evil spirit possession.
In the teaser poster just released, Xuan Lan's character appears with a cold face, a cruel look. The deep lipstick tone combined with ancient costumes creates a mysterious appearance. The haunting highlight is the image of the beauty salon owner holding a sharp scalpel to the neck of a blindfolded woman on the operating table, while Thanh (Ngoc Trinh) witnesses it with a tense look.
The teaser trailer continues to reveal many gruesome details. The character Xuan leads Thanh into a strange "hospital", surrounded by a gloomy atmosphere and mysterious people. Here, Thanh is drawn to participate in the "di thiep" ritual - an ancient form of extase, opening up a series of horrific experiences in the underworld.
After two self-produced projects before, Xuan Lan continues to try her hand at cinema with a heavy role. The character is not simply a villain, but also a sharp woman, good at manipulating psychology, with inner depth and complex emotional transformation. This is also the first time she has taken on a role with a clear horror color.

To prepare for the role, Xuan Lan said that she learned a lot about the legends of the underworld and spiritual energy sources. The scenes related to rituals, worship and exorcism require a lot of physical strength, causing her to lose a lot of energy. Besides, the harsh filming conditions in Da Lat, with a temperature of about 10°C and thick smoke, are also a big challenge.
I have to maintain a heavy mentality for many hours to ensure emotions throughout each camera angle," the supermodel shared. Despite the pressure, she sees this as an opportunity to affirm her acting ability and aim for the image of a diverse artist.
A representative of Runup Vietnam producer said that the choice of Xuan Lan and Ngoc Trinh is to create a clear contrast in the image between good and evil. The film also exploits the dark side of appearance obsession and beauty standards, when people are willing to trade off to change their appearance.
The movie "Infernal Beauty Salon" directed by Nguyen Huu Hoang, is scheduled to be released nationwide from May 8, 2026.
