“Ambition for Wealth” is a new TV series directed by Hoang Tuan Cuong. The film begins with a story many years ago, Mrs. Huong (a housekeeper) was raped by her boss and gave birth to An (Yeye Nhat Ha).
Because of her jealousy of Mrs. Huong, Mrs. Mai constantly tormented and tortured An. Growing up, An, although related by blood to her father, still had to live like a servant, so she always wanted to find a way to steal happiness from her sister - Mrs. Mai's daughter.
Later, An was plotted by Mrs. Mai to marry Thinh (Bach Cong Khanh) - a rich young master who became disabled and mentally retarded due to an accident.
Thinking that this was a chance to change her life and escape from Mrs. Mai's manipulation, An abandoned her poor lover to accept a forced marriage. However, when she got married, she realized that she was just a pawn in Mrs. Mai's calculating game.
Watching Yeye Nhat Ha perform, many viewers felt both sympathy for her tragic fate and anger because there were times when hatred clouded her reason and she did wrong things to the gentle, honest girl Truc (Le Tam Trieu Dang).
In recent episodes, An has to face Mrs. Tu (Le Phuong) - a mean and greedy mother-in-law who is willing to do many terrible things for her position.
The scene where An struggled with Mrs. Tu when she was asked for her dowry gold was praised for her intelligence and quick response. Despite being constantly pressured by her mother-in-law, she still had a spectacular way to “escape”.
Talking about her role in the movie “Ambition for Wealth”, Yeye Nhat Ha expressed: “The role of An is truly a memorable experience for me. This character has a very special fate and personality. Although she is a villain, she became evil because of circumstances.
After each episode, I read the audience's comments, both praise and criticism, I read them all. Luckily, there were many viewers who defended An. People even gloated when they saw An take revenge on Mrs. Mai or confront her mother-in-law, Mrs. Tu.
I was happy and surprised that I played a villain and was loved by everyone. There were times when people even defended An, explaining why she acted like that.
Many viewers are not happy to see An becoming more and more calculating, however, everything is still ahead, I think everyone will be more surprised".
Regarding the audience's comments that the actress is beautiful in a modern way, and that some scenes playing a servant look classy, she humorously shared: "I will consider this a compliment. Actually, the scenes as a servant are less than the scenes as the wife of Master Thinh, everyone who watches the movie also sees that the scenes of me being a servant when I was still at Mrs. Mai's house were very few.
When I was in costume, I wore very little makeup, and even made my skin darker to better suit the role of a servant. As for my face being somewhat modern and sharp, I could only listen to the audience's suggestions so that I could adjust it more appropriately for future projects.
I am a good listener and always try my best with my role. I don't care about beauty or ugliness, what I care most about is how to make the role fit the overall film."
