On the afternoon of May 28, the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province held a meeting to honor teachers and students with outstanding achievements at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympic (APIO) competition.
At the ceremony, the provincial leaders presented a letter of commendation from Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung and a certificate of commendation from Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan to Le Kien Thanh, a 12th grade student majoring in Information Technology at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Quy Nhon City) - who just won the APIO 2025 silver medal.
The Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee also awarded a certificate of merit for her silent but persistent contributions in the journey of training excellent students to Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu - a homeroom teacher and teaching IT subject to Thanh for 3 years.
The APIO 2025 exam is hosted by Uzbekistan, held online on May 17-18, with the participation of 868 students from 42 countries and territories. The Vietnam team won 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals, 3 bronze medals and ranked 5th overall.
At the commendation ceremony, Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung affirmed: Thanh's achievements are not only the pride of his family and school but also a testament to Binh Dinh's right-way investment in spearhead education. In the context of the digital age and exploding artificial intelligence, the conquest of international playgrounds by local students in key areas such as IT is even more meaningful.
"Duc Thanh not only affirms his own abilities but also inspires and fuels the passion for knowledge and technology for the young generation of Binh Dinh," said Mr. Dung.
In particular, Le Kien Thanh is also one of the Vietnamese students selected to participate in the International Informatics Olympiad (IOI) 2025, scheduled to take place in Bolivia from July 27 to August 3.
"I hope you continue to try, train and nurture my dreams, contribute to the continuation of the tradition of studiousness and the spirit of overcoming difficulties of Binh Dinh's homeland, contributing to the sustainable development of the province and the country in the new era," Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee Secretary expected.
