Improving teaching quality, investing in facilities and developing the teaching staff are three important solutions that the Education Department of Da Bac District (Hoa Binh) has persistently implemented. After many years, education in this mountainous district, which still faces many difficulties, has reaped its first "sweet fruits".
In the 2024-2025 school year, Nguyen Quynh Anh and Phi Ha Chi (Da Bac town, Da Bac district) made their dream of becoming English-specialized students at Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted (the leading educational center of Hoa Binh province) come true.
With a perfect score of 10/10 in the specialized subject exam, the two students have become the pride of Da Bac Town Secondary School.
This achievement is not only the result of the students' spirit of overcoming difficulties and will to rise up, but also a testament to the positive transformation of education in the mountainous district of Da Bac.

Currently, the Department of Education and Training of Da Bac district manages 47 schools, including all levels from kindergarten to junior high school. Of these, 30 schools have met national standards, accounting for 63.82%.
The rate of solid classrooms reached 96.7%, an increase compared to the previous school year. The number of schools with playgrounds and outdoor toys reached 97.3%, contributing to creating a dynamic and safe learning environment for students.
Despite many difficulties in economic and social development, Da Bac district has completed the criteria for new rural construction in the field of education and training. Accordingly, 16/16 communes met criterion number 14 on education, and 8/16 communes met criterion number 5 on schools.
Ms. Trinh Thi Nguyet Hoa - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Da Bac district - commented: "Investments in facilities not only help improve the quality of education but also improve the learning conditions of children in the highlands."
According to Ms. Hoa, the district has met the standards of universalizing preschool education for 5-year-old children, universalizing primary education level 3, universalizing secondary education level 3, and eliminating illiteracy level 2.
In the 2023-2024 school year, the whole district has 138 excellent students at the district level, 22 students won provincial prizes, and 99.57% of grade 9 students were considered to be recognized as graduating from junior high school.

The quality of the teaching staff is also constantly improving. The district has 90 teachers who are excellent at the district level and 6 teachers who are excellent at the provincial level. The management staff and teachers are standardized, ensuring sufficient quantity, quality and structure according to job positions, contributing positively to the development of the education and training sector.
In recent years, Da Bac district has paid special attention to building a safe and healthy educational environment, while educating students about ethics, lifestyle and life skills.
Schools have organized many propaganda and educational activities on traffic safety, environmental protection, and prevention of school violence. The district has 27 schools that have established sports clubs and organized many competitions to encourage students to exercise.
According to Ms. Trinh Thi Nguyet Hoa, these results create a solid foundation for the district to enter the 2024-2025 school year with the goal of completing strategic tasks in improving the quality of education.
The district focuses on promoting administrative reform, applying information technology in education management and online teaching; building more national standard schools, adding teachers and improving facilities at schools in remote areas. At the same time, continuing to promote STEM education, foreign languages and life skills for students, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolutions set forth by Party Congresses at all levels.
