On September 19, Mekong University held a ceremony to summarize 10 years of international cooperation for the period 2015 - 2025, awarding certificates of merit and certificates of merit to many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.
Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu - President of Mekong University - said that in the period of 2015-2025, Mekong University will expand cooperation with more than 20 countries, signing more than 98 international memorandums, agreements and principle contracts.
The school is training more than 600 students, the most from Laos (384), Cambodia (164) along with Japan, South Korea, India, Sri Lanka, Germany and a number of other countries.
Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dung - Vice Principal of the school - said that the school will expand relations with universities and research institutes in Japan, Korea, Australia, the United States, Canada and countries in the ASEAN region.
The school also promotes business cooperation, implements the 2+2, 3+1 program, builds international parallel schools, focuses on Information Technology, Business Administration, Nursing, English Language and High-Tech Agriculture.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training (MOET) Nguyen Van Phuc acknowledged the proposal of Cuu Long University, including organizing exams and granting Vietnamese language certificates in Laos. He suggested that the school expand cooperation, support student retention and attract international lecturers.
At the conference, the vice president highly appreciated the results of international cooperation that Mekong University has achieved over the past 10 years. He emphasized that this achievement affirms the cooperation potential of a first private school in the plains, which needs to continue to be encouraged.
He also said that the Politburo has just issued important resolutions on education, science and technology and international integration. The goal is that by 2030, Vietnam will attract 1.5% of international students and by 2045, it will be in the top 20 in the world.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to 2 groups and 4 individuals; the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports awarded certificates of merit to 2 groups and 6 individuals.
The Development Department of the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense and the Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka also commended many collectives and individuals.
