On June 3, Market Management Team No. 3 coordinated with the Economic Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police to conduct a surprise inspection of business household Dang Thi Loi (residing in Trung Thanh hamlet, Hung Dong ward, Vinh city). Through inspection, the authorities discovered that the facility was using a heat pump to transfer and pack imported sticky rice from a large bag of 50kg into small bags of 1kg and 5kg.
At the time of inspection, the authorities seized 1,400 packages of 1kg of finished sticky rice; 22,000 packages of 1kg and 150 packages of 5kg, all with foreign characters; and a YAMAFUJI brand heat pump.
Ms. Loi presented a declaration of import of 10% broken Lao sticky rice, packaged at 50kg/bag. However, the goods being traded have original labels in foreign languages but no sub-labels in Vietnamese, violating regulations on product labeling.
Based on documents, the authorities determined that the act showed signs of counterfeiting packaging, belonging to the group of prohibited acts as prescribed in Decree 98/2020/ND-CP. Market Management Team No. 3 has prepared a file to transfer the entire case to the Economic Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police for further investigation and handling according to its authority.
