According to the Portal of the Market Management Department (QLTT) of Can Tho, in May, the Market Management Department directed its affiliated Market Management Teams to simultaneously launch inspections and strictly handle acts of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.
As a result, in addition to the 3 previously reported cases, including 2 households selling products with signs of counterfeiting famous brands and 1 household selling packaged food products without origin; the inspection teams of the Market Management Department also discovered 2 more cases of households selling products with signs of counterfeiting famous brands in Thot Not district and Phong Dien district.
In Thot Not District, the Inspection Team of the Market Management Department of Can Tho City, led by Market Management Team No. 4, conducted a surprise inspection of business household H.T.S (Trung Kien Ward, Thot Not District).
Through inspection, the team discovered that the business household was trading in 59 ready-made pants and shirt products of all kinds with signs of counterfeiting the Adidas brand protected in Vietnam, with a total value determined according to the listed price of VND 22,470,000 (products printed and labeled with the Adidas brand directly on the product that cannot be peeled off or dis assembled).
The business household does not have invoices or documents proving the legality of the goods. The case is being further verified by the inspection team, coordinating with the industrial property rights subject to handle according to the law.
In Phong Dien district, the inspection team of Can Tho City Department of Information and Communications, led by the 5th QLTT Team No. 5, also unexpectedly inspected A.A glasses business households (Phong Dien town, Phong Dien district). Through the inspection, the delegation discovered that this business household sold 26 glasses with signs of fake Chanel label being protected in Vietnam, with the total value determined at the listed price of 6,400,000 VND (the above products are printed, attached to Chanel brand directly on the product that cannot be removed, removable).
The business household does not have invoices or documents proving the legality of the goods. The case is being further verified by the Inspection Team, in coordination with the industrial property rights subject for handling according to the law.
In the coming time, Can Tho City Department of Information and Communications follows the direction of the City People's Committee, the Steering Committee of 389 City, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Management and Development of the domestic market to strengthen the management of the area, control the market control in order to fight, prevent and repel smuggling, commercial frauds, fake goods, infringing upon intellectual property rights, protect the legal rights, legitimate interests of consumers in Can Tho City.
