The delegation inspected scrap collection points, illegal dumping and illegal burning of waste in Cap Tien, Vinh Quang, Thi Dua, and Kien Thiet residential groups. Statistics in these residential groups show that there are currently 79 households trading in scrap, of which 30 households have business licenses. These 30 households have signed commitments not to dump or burn waste illegally. However, inspections show that the situation of illegal dumping and illegal burning of waste still occurs.
Some households deliberately take advantage of deserted times to secretly dump garbage and burn garbage illegally, causing environmental pollution and affecting the water source of the Da Do River. Many spontaneous collection points on sidewalks do not meet hygiene conditions, posing a risk of fire and explosion, and urban unsightliness. Although functional forces have taken many measures to handle it, the effectiveness is not high.
Ms. Bui Thi Tuyet Mai - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Ward People's Council - requested to resolutely handle and overcome the situation of scrap collection, illegal dumping, and illegal burning of waste. At the same time, she emphasized that this is a difficult task but cannot be avoided, the goal is to protect a safe living environment for people, and at the same time protect the Da Do River water - a source of clean water for the whole city.
Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Ward People's Council noted that the Ward People's Committee should advise on building a specialized resolution on land management, urban construction order management, and environmental sanitation management. The Ward People's Committee urgently meets with scrap business households to inform them about the situation of illegal dumping and burning of waste, the level of penalties for violations, and request households to seriously commit to environmental protection.

Functional forces regularly patrol and promptly detect cases of illegal burning, illegal dumping of waste, and garbage collection on sidewalks and roads; strictly handle violations of fire prevention and fighting, environmental sanitation, and business conditions. At the same time, promote information and propaganda to raise awareness and legal compliance of business households; install concrete pillars on roads into the Cong Can area to prevent the situation of transporting and illegally dumping waste.
Regarding long-term solutions, the leaders of the Ward Party Committee requested policies to encourage and support scrap business households to transform their models towards sustainability; review and statistics related labor to advise and introduce suitable jobs. Business households that continue to do business must ensure full conditions according to regulations.
