On September 8, the mother H.T.H (43 years old, 34 weeks pregnant) was hospitalized with severe abdominal pain. The fetus in the womb has multiple bowel movements and early childbirth threats, while the outer part of the excess intestinal favoritis is quietly spreading. Any delay can lead to tragedy.
In case of emergency, the inter-hospital surgery was performed in coordination with the Central Maternity and Obstetrics Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. When performing abdominal surgery, the doctors discovered that the excess intestines were broken, rotated, the abdomen contained a lot of rot, and large connective muscles were inflamed with thick inflammation.
Dr. Vu Ngan Ha - Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department (Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital) said: If treated slowly, the mother will fall into a state of toxic infection due to toanatric peritoneal inflammation and can die both mother and child in just a few hours. The quick coordination between the Obstetrics and Surgery is the decisive factor.
Immediately, the entire inflammatory bowel was thoroughly treated, the abdomen was cleaned. At the same time, doctors promptly welcomed a 2.6kg baby boy to birth safely. The newborn baby was taken to the Neonatal Center - Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital for care, while the mother was transferred to the Department of Gastroenterology - Viet Duc Friendship Hospital for monitoring. After a week, the health of the mother and child stabilized.
