Can Tho - There were 2 cases of accidents caused by firecrackers recorded at Can Tho Central General Hospital this Tet holiday.

Statistics from Can Tho Central General Hospital, from January 23 (ie 24th of Tet) to February 2 (5th of Tet) (except 25th and 26th of Tet), the hospital received 3,826 cases of patients coming for examination, emergency, and accidents (an increase of 4.17% compared to 2024).

Of these, 296 cases were examined due to traffic accidents, and 143 cases were hospitalized. Notably, the number of patients with alcohol concentration was only 22 cases, down 8.33% compared to 2024.

Doctors said that the encouraging sign is that the number of traffic accidents has decreased compared to the same period, but the number of domestic accidents has increased. Accordingly, during the 2025 Tet holiday, Can Tho Central General Hospital recorded 149 cases of patients being examined and hospitalized due to domestic accidents.

Notably, there were 2 cases of accidents caused by firecrackers, 4 cases of accidents caused by other explosives, and 24 cases of fighting. The cause of fighting was due to drinking alcohol in 3 cases.
