On September 25, the Department of Health of Cao Bang province informed that from September 23 to 25, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of Cao Bang province (Vietnam) will coordinate with the Xue Hai Customs (China) to deploy a joint monitoring of disease-carrying animals in the Ta Lung - Xue international border gate area and around a radius of about 400m.
This is a specific action to implement the 4th Minutes of talks on cooperation in border health quarantine "Two countries - Four sides" signed on August 30, 2024 in Ha Long (Quang Ninh),
During the three working days, the professional staff of both sides have taken many technical measures to assess the epidemic risk: setting rat traps at high-risk points to collect samples for testing; collecting insects from the owner to analyze the vector index; deploying mosquito collection trap, classifying and calculating the density of mosquitoes that can transmit diseases.
The results will be an important scientific basis to help forecast risks, build and improve the effectiveness of disease prevention measures.
Especially in the border gate area - where trade is bustling, goods and people passing by are large - strict monitoring of disease transmission medium is key in preventing the penetration of dangerous diseases such as epidemics, leptospirose, chikungunya, dengue fever, etc.
In addition to professional activities, the medical forces of both sides also exchanged information, shared experiences and agreed on the direction of supervision coordination in the coming time.
In the context of the global epidemic still facing many potential risks, proactive monitoring from the front line not only protects public health but also contributes to ensuring national health security, maintaining safety for import-export activities and the socio-economic development of Cao Bang province in the process of international integration.
