According to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC), as of November 21, 2025, the whole city recorded 5,609 cases of dengue fever, with no deaths. The number of cases decreased by 22.5% compared to the same period in 2024 (7,239 cases). Hanoi currently accounts for only about 3.5% of the total number of cases nationwide (156,000 cases, 32 deaths).
Notably, in the past 4 weeks (weeks 44 to 47), the number of cases has decreased continuously, an average of about 300 cases/week, without major outbreaks or complicated developments. This result shows the drastic participation of the city government, the health sector, organizations and the awareness of disease prevention of the people.
Implementing Plan No. 120/KH-UBND dated November 10, 2025 of Khuong Dinh Ward People's Committee on "General environmental sanitation, disease of bedridden and spraying of chemicals to kill adult mosquitoes to proactively prevent and control dengue fever for the third time in 2025", the Ward Health Station has deployed a chemical spraying campaign in 18 residential groups from November 24 to November 29, 2025.

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Hai - Head of Khuong Dinh Ward Health Station, chemical spraying is concentrated in residential groups with a high insect index to reduce the density of disease-carrying mosquitoes and limit the risk of dengue fever outbreak during the complicated weather period at the end of the year. This is an important proactive measure to help localities effectively control the epidemic.

To ensure the campaign is safe, the Ward Health Station recommends that residential groups widely notify people to prepare: open their doors, cover with food - drinking water, move livestock and leave the spraying area for at least 30 minutes. Children, the elderly and pregnant women are advised to stay outside for 1-2 hours. After spraying, people need to clean the surfaces of household appliances to ensure health safety.
In addition to chemical spraying activities, Khuong Dinh Ward Health Station emphasized that this is not the only measure. People need to maintain disease prevention measures in households such as: finding and killing mosquito larvae/ members, covering water containers, removing scrap from stagnant water, sleeping on a mattress, wearing long-sleeved clothes and using mosquito repellent products. When there are signs of fever or suspected illness, people need to go to a medical facility for timely examination.
