Reduce the harmful effects of sunlight, fight UV rays and free radicals
A simple method that people often apply is sunscreen. Sunscreen (sunblock, sunscreen, sunburn cream, suntan lotion...) are topical topical products that help the skin absorb or reflect the UV rays, thereby protecting the skin from the harmful effects of sunlight.
There are two types of sunscreen: physical sunscreen and chemical sunscreen.
Physical sunscreen is placed on the skin like a helmet, creating a barrier between the sun and your skin to fight the invasion of rays.Titanium Dioxide and Zinc oxide are classic ingredients of physical sunscreens and they work immediately after use, currently many physical sunscreens are conditioned with light weight, in harmony with all skin tones, do not cause oiliness, your skin will be less oily. Chemical sunscreen, this type of sunscreen, will radiate by absorbing UV rays and then converting them into heat. Because this is a chemical process, it takes about ten to thirty minutes for it to penetrate the skin and work more effectively. Chemical sunscreens usually contain two to six active ingredients such as oxybenzone, avobenzone, etc.
Chemical sunscreen is often lighter than physical sunscreen and mostly absorbs the skin like moisturizer without leaving any trace on the skin.
Choosing sunscreen
What we often pay attention to first is the SPF index, SPF is the abbreviation of " Sun Protection factor" ( sun protection factor), measuring the effectiveness of sunscreen in fighting UVB rays.
Not every product with a high SPF is as good as the sun protection effect because according to some studies, the protective effect of sunscreen with a high SPF compared to conventional is insignificant. SPF 50 sunscreen is used properly to block 98% of UVB rays; SPF 100 blocks 99% of UVB rays.
Sunscreen is very useful, but is it harmful to apply it?
There are many conflicting opinions surrounding this issue. Some environmental groups believe that chemical sunscreens (as well as some physical sunscreens) can seep into the skin and blood vessels, causing enough problems with allergy to hocmonal disruption. Another group, including the FDA, has published research proving that chemical sunscreens are not harmful and can be used in children from six months old. It is best to use sunscreens containing zinc oxide or titanium oxide because they do not have the same size as nano seeds, so they cannot be absorbed into the blood.
How to use sunscreen
So apply sunscreen before leaving the house in the morning and after three to four hours, you have to apply it once because the protective ability of the sunscreen will gradually decrease and will no longer be effective after a few hours. In addition, you still need to apply sunscreen even on gloomy weather days because most of the UVA and UVB rays can still penetrate clouds, and even in the snow, this 80% ray can still reflect onto the snow surface and splash directly onto the face. If you sit indoors and drive away near a window, UV rays will still shine through the window. Even the higher the sun is, the more harmful it is, so sunscreen should be applied when preparing to fly.
