According to statistics, each year Vietnam records about 200,000 stroke cases, of which the rate of young people suffering from the disease is increasing, accounting for 10-15% of the total number of cases.
Stroke not only causes a burden on the patient's family but also leaves serious economic and social consequences.
In order to raise public awareness of stroke - one of the leading causes of death and disability in Vietnam, Military Hospital 175 coordinated with sponsors to organize the program "Walking to raise public awareness of stroke".
With the participation of more than 1,000 walkers, through the program, people can raise community awareness about the importance of early recognition of stroke signs through propaganda and education of the community on the FAST method (Face - Arm - Speech - Time) to recognize early signs of stroke and have timely intervention measures, contributing to reducing the mortality rate and sequelae of this disease.
In addition, the program promotes a healthy lifestyle and regular health check-ups. The program encourages the community to maintain physical exercise habits, eat a healthy diet and have regular health check-ups to prevent and detect early risk factors for stroke and other diseases.
