On the morning of June 22, Hospital 199 (Ministry of Public Security) in Da Nang informed that doctors from the Department of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology had just performed an endoscopy to remove a large foreign object from the esophagus of a 56-year-old female patient. The endoscopy was performed that night.

Accordingly, the patient from Hai Duong and his family traveling to Da Nang were taken by their family to the Emergency Unit - Hospital 199 at 10:00 p.m. on June 21 in a state of chest pain, swallowing and pain. More notably, the patient's family said they had taken him to 4 medical facilities but could not handle them all.
After consulting on the patient's condition, the endoscopy team of the Department of Gastroenterology was immediately deployed. After nearly 30 minutes of emergency endoscopy, the doctor successfully removed a large, sharp piece of fish bone (about 20x25mm), avoiding the risk of enterococcal perforation, endangering his life.
Master - Doctor Hoang Phuong Thuy, who directly performs emergency endoscopy, said: When choking on bones or foreign objects, patients should not try to swallow more but should go to medical facilities with the ability to perform emergency digestive endoscopy to avoid dangerous complications.
