Accordingly, the medical team of Military Hospital 175 coordinated with units to conduct examinations and screening for nearly 200 subjects who are relatives of policy families, officers, soldiers, workers, and people in Tay Ninh province. Through examination, there were 49 cases indicated for surgery.
Surgeries using modern techniques, soft, and less invasive glasses help patients remove the ice within a few hours of surgery. To effectively implement the program, Military Hospital 175 mobilized a team of doctors and medical staff with high expertise from the Department of Ophthalmology and other specialties to participate.
Colonel, Doctor, Meritorious Doctor Nguyen Viet Cuong - Deputy Director of Military Hospital 175 - said: "The program "Shining the eyes of Vietnam" is a charity surgery project initiated by the hospital, helping people in difficult circumstances to restore their vision, improve the quality of life and express gratitude to policy families in revolutionary homelands".
Through the program, Military Hospital 175 promotes propaganda activities for medical staff to raise awareness of self-reliance, self-strengthening, aspiration to contribute to hospital development and community care; at the same time, mobilizing social resources to accompany, demonstrating solidarity between units to jointly spread the spirit of "mutual love".
Representing the locality, Mr. Pham Hung Thai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Tay Ninh province - respectfully thanked the humanitarian treatment of Military Hospital 175 and its accompanying units for supporting the locality in caring for people in difficult circumstances who do not have the conditions to examine and treat eye diseases. The effectiveness of this meaningful activity has contributed to consolidating and fostering the solidarity of the army and people, working with the locality to do a good job of policy work and taking care of social security.
The program is a practical and meaningful activity to celebrate the Party Congresses at all levels; commemorate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), and is also part of a series of activities to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1945 - July 27, 2025).
On this occasion, Military Hospital 175 and accompanying units also presented meaningful gifts to surgical cases (each gift worth 1 million VND). The total cost of the program is about 400 million VND.
