On August 12, the Dak Lak Department of Health informed about the cause of the death of girl H.O.Q.N (19 years old, temporarily residing in Buon Ma Thuot ward, Dak Lak province) in the area due to dengue fever.
According to the Dak Lak Department of Health, when the disease started, the patient had a fever but bought medicine and treated it at home. Only when the fever became severe did the patient go to a medical facility for examination and had serious complications, leading to his death on July 14.
Recently, the Department of Health has established many working groups to work with local health centers on dengue prevention and control.
The People's Committees of communes and wards in the province have also established a Steering Committee for disease prevention and control. However, some localities have only established "on paper" steering committees, while propaganda, epidemic prevention and control work is still concentrated on the health force at the commune level.
Therefore, the Dak Lak Department of Health recommends that authorities at all levels consider dengue fever prevention and control as a common task, not a separate task of the health sector.
