Working at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Hanoi National University), Dr. and Pharmacist Le Ngoc An regularly shares medical knowledge on social networks.

"What about children who are vegetarian from the womb?", "Is it okay for children to drink a lot of sweets?", "Is 90% of gout cases caused by liver and kidney failure?"... those are hundreds of questions sent to Dr. An's personal page. Despite his busy work schedule, every evening Dr. An always answers each question, even researching more world medical documents to bring the most useful knowledge to the community.

Thanks to that, in just a short time, Dr. An's TikTok channel received 400,000 followers and 3 million likes.

In 2020, Dr. An completed his research and received his PhD from the University of Zurich (Switzerland). Despite receiving many job offers abroad, the doctor still decided to return to Vietnam.

“During my studies, I have had the opportunity to access new technologies, methods and innovative approaches that I believe can greatly support the development in Vietnam. Therefore, I want to contribute to building and developing the academic environment, research and application of science and technology in my home country,” he said.

After returning, Dr. An taught and researched at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Known as a pharmaceutical expert, but instead of confining his knowledge to the classroom, he chose to get closer to the community through social networks. Realizing that Vietnamese people often blindly trust information about products of unknown origin, especially unscientific trends that cause serious health consequences, he experimented with sharing health education content via TikTok and Facebook.

For Dr. An, teaching and content creation are both serious and complementary jobs. From the beginning, every process from idea generation, filming, and video editing is done by the doctor and his small team. He tries to maintain the quality and creativity in each video with the desire to convey knowledge in the simplest and easiest way to understand to everyone.

“My goal in developing these channels is to popularize health knowledge, help people understand and properly apply scientific principles in daily life, thereby improving the quality of life and improving the health of the community,” he added.

In the future, Dr. An will continue to pursue his path of teaching and creating social media content seriously and responsibly. He has never placed too much emphasis on the economic aspect of channel development, because for the doctor, raising public awareness about health is the most important task.
