Alphonso Davies has been regarded as one of Europe's top left-backs for many years. The Bayern star has played 210 games for the German club, winning one Champions League and five Bundesliga titles.
However, Davies' contract renewal process has stalled for a year now, meaning the Canadian defender could leave Bayern Munich on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Real Madrid have been keeping a close eye on Alphonso Davies and Spanish sources have recently said that the 24-year-old has agreed a move to the Bernabeu.
Davies' agent Nedal Huoseh denied the reports, according to Getfootballnews Germany: "It's all a lie. Although he has many options, we have not yet agreed terms with any club. Bayern could also be an option. Any information to the contrary is incorrect."
Before the correction from Davies' agent, both Bayern Munich and Barcelona knew they still had a chance. The Gray Tigers had the biggest advantage, as they had enough negotiation time and emotional factors to convince the Canadian defender to stay.
Barcelona have only recently joined the race to sign Alphonso Davies. The advantage for the Camp Nou side is that they have coaches Hansi Flick and Lewandowski, a duo who worked well with Davies at Bayern Munich.
