In 2021, Man United spent £71 million to recruit Jadon Sancho from Dortmund. However, this was a failed contract for the Red Devils, because the England star scored only 12 goals in 83 matches. He even had a conflict with coach Ten Hag and was removed from the first team.
In the summer of 2024, Sancho chose to join Chelsea on a loan deal, with an option to buy at the end of the season. He showed a different side and became an important link in coach Enzo Maresca's squad. Most recently, Sancho scored a masterpiece to help Chelsea beat Tottenham 4-3, thereby increasing the number of goals he contributed to to 7 (2 goals and 5 assists).
Former Man United player Mikael Silvestre explained the difference in Sancho's form at Man United and Chelsea, according to Metro: "Jadon Sancho is playing with a smile on his face at Chelsea and he has shown that he is a great asset. He has positivity and the manager trusts him.
Sancho works harder at Chelsea than he did at Man United. He is a bargain for Chelsea because it will only cost them £25m to buy him at the end of the season.”
Sancho, for his part, revealed that he has been working harder on his finishing. The man who has just scored in two consecutive games for Chelsea shared: “I have been working a bit more on my shooting ability. The staff and players have told me to be a bit more selfish in front of goal and to shoot when I have the chance.
I did well and I am very happy. I know I have to prove many people wrong by working hard. When I have the opportunity, I will try to show my best.”
