On December 12, the Organizing Committee of the 27th Quang Nam Newspaper Traditional Cross Country Race for the Agribank Cup announced that this is the largest mass sports event in Quang Nam province every year, organized by Quang Nam Newspaper in coordination with the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTTDL) and a number of units.
This year's tournament is the largest ever with 15 events in 8 categories, from amateur to high-performance, and will open at 6am on December 17 at 24/3 Square, Tam Ky City.
Competing in the tournament are 131 delegations with 1,198 athletes, team leaders, coaches from districts, towns, and cities in the province; high schools, boarding schools for ethnic minorities, Department of Education and Training (GDDT), universities, colleges, vocational schools, and vocational schools; armed forces, and provincial agencies. Notably, there are 11 delegations of athletes who have achieved high results in national and international tournaments.
Notably, in the women's 5,000m and men's 10,000m distances, the teams of centers, provinces and cities nationwide gathered many stars of the national athletics team, the reigning national and Southeast Asian champions such as: Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Nguyen Thi Diem, Luong Binh Duong with the Da Nang National Sports Training Center; Luong Duc Phuoc, Doan Thu Hang, Luong Xuan Son with the Hanoi National Sports Training Center; Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuc, Vo Xuan Vinh with the Da Nang team...
At this tournament, the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development decided to donate 6 billion VND to build 100 houses for poor households and policy households that are eligible for temporary housing elimination in Quang Nam by 2025, in response to the emulation movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.
