After a 2-0 victory in the first leg final, the Vietnamese team returned to My Dinh Stadium with a significant advantage over Thailand. Just a draw result, the Vietnamese team will officially win the ASEAN Cup 2026 championship.
In case of losing by a goal difference, Vietnam will still successfully defend the championship. If Thailand wins by exactly 2 goals in 90 minutes, the two teams will enter extra time and may have to decide the championship by a penalty shootout.
Thailand can only reverse the situation during official playing time if they win with a difference of 3 goals or more.
Despite the defeat in the first leg, coach Anthony Hudson affirmed that the Thai team has not given up hope. The representative of the Land of the Golden Temple is predicted to enter the match with high determination to create a comeback at My Dinh.
