Lam Dong - Digital transformation is becoming the key to helping nearly 1,000 OCOP products of the province expand market share, increasing competitiveness in the market.

According to the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Rural Development, as of July 2025, the whole province has 913 OCOP products with quality of 3 stars or higher. Of which, 7 products achieved 5 stars.

These products all have clear traceability addresses, designs, and packaging that are constantly improving according to new consumer trends.

To support OCOP entities to speed up the digitalization process, the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Rural Development has built an electronic handbook, organized training and supported bringing products to platforms such as TikTok Shop, fanpage, website and experience clip.

Lam Dong Provincial Department of Industry and Trade also implemented a project to trace electronic origin using QR codes, supporting market connection through fairs, events and national e-commerce platforms.

Accordingly, just by using the QR code scanning operation on the packaging, consumers can look up information about the production process, origin, price, etc.

However, many small cooperatives and individual manufacturing households still have difficulty accessing digital skills, lacking skills to build sustainable brands and expand markets.

To truly become a lever for sustainable development of OCOP products, there needs to be close cooperation between the government, businesses and cooperatives.

Improving digital skills, operating e-commerce platforms, building brands and storytelling products will be key factors to help OCOP entities not be left behind in the transformation process.

Moreover, continuing to invest in digital infrastructure, diversifying distribution channels and promoting products according to the trend of modern consumers is an inevitable direction.

According to the Lam Dong Province Rural Development Department, in the context of extensive integration and increasingly fierce competition, digital transformation is no longer an option but has become a mandatory requirement if Lam Dong OCOP products want to develop and expand the market.

From farms to dining tables, from raw material areas to e-commerce platforms, the journey to bring products to consumers is being shortened thanks to the application of technology.

With synchronous efforts, Lam Dong OCOP products can gradually build a strong brand, contributing to affirming the position of Vietnamese agricultural products in the global market.
