Binh Thuan - From fresh dragon fruit, many individuals and cooperatives have produced candy, dragon fruit jam, dragon fruit ice cream, ... to increase value and diversify consumption.

Binh Thuan currently has about 27,000 hectares of dragon fruit with an annual output of over 450,000 tons. As a key export fruit, especially to the Chinese market (through a sub-tshop with 85% of output), however, in recent years, dragon fruit exports have also fluctuated a lot according to the season and market.

Facing that situation, many individuals, businesses and cooperatives in Binh Thuan have found a new direction for dragon fruits by a variety of products. New products from dragon fruits such as dragon fruit candy, dragon fruit ice cream, dragon fruit jam, dragon dragon dragon, dragon wine, dragon fruit, dragon shrimp noodles and even tea from dragon fruit, ...

Starting out of dragon fruit is worth mentioning Ms. Tran Thi Kim Linh, a girl from Binh Thuan, after successfully researching the product of naturally fermented dragon fruit juice, Ms. Linh continued to research and launch a series of other products made from dragon fruit such as syrup, jam, sticky candy, toothpaste, etc. Thanks to that, reducing the pressure on consumption of fresh dragon fruit for growers, especially during the main season.

Or Hoa Le Clean Dragon fruit Cooperative launched a fresh dragon fruit ice cream product in 2021 and is still consuming strongly. Dragon fruit is also one of the products made from dragon fruit and is being offered for sale on the market by Ham Kiem Dragon fruit Cooperative.

Dragon fruit is an advantageous crop of Binh Thuan province, helping to improve the lives of farmers as well as the production, processing and consumption activities of many dragon fruit enterprises and cooperatives in the province.

Currently, the purchase and sale of fresh dragon fruit depends on many factors such as storage time, price, market demand, etc. Creating a line of processed products right from the abundant dragon fruit material area is a right direction. This not only solves the problem of fruit consumption when supply exceeds demand but also contributes to diversifying products and increasing added value for Binh Thuan dragon fruit.
