On the afternoon of September 23, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi chaired a reception with the Consul General of the German Federal Republic (CHLB) in Ho Chi Minh City Andrea Maria Suhl during her visit and work in the city.
At the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi thanked Ms. Andrea Maria Suhl for accepting the invitation to attend the Friendship Exchange Program on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany organized by the Da Nang Friendship Organizations Association.
Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Nguyen Thi Anh Thi said that in recent years, the cooperative relationship between Da Nang and localities and partners of CHLB Duc has had many positive changes.
In May 2024, during a working trip of city leaders in Germany, Da Nang City and Thuringia State signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of friendship and cooperation, focusing on strengthening cooperation in key areas including: Investment, trade, human resource development (including cooperation in higher education, vocational training), cooperation in science and innovation development; enhancing cultural exchange, etc.
Da Nang City is preparing for a working visit to Germany and attending the World Bank for International Financial Centers (WAIFC) Annual Congress in Frankfurt this weekend.
During his working time here, Da Nang will co-organize the Conference on Investment Promotion of the International Financial Center in Vietnam and introduce preparations to deploy the Vietnam International Financial Center in Da Nang City.
Regarding investment attraction, there are currently 28 German FDI projects registered to invest in Da Nang City with a total investment capital of about 671.4 million USD.
In the first 8 months of 2025, the total number of German CHLB tourists to Da Nang reached more than 127 thousand, in the top 15 tourist market share to the city.
Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Nguyen Thi Anh Thi hopes that CHLB Germany Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City Andrea Maria Suhl will introduce investors and German CHLB enterprises that want to learn about and invest in the city.
At the same time, introduce key programs, projects and areas that the city prioritizes for development such as port city, environment, logistics, supply chains, finance.
At the meeting, Consul General of the German Republic in Ho Chi Minh City Andrea Maria Suhl - said that Da Nang is one of the localities that the German Republic introduced to businesses to learn about the environment and investment opportunities.
In her position and role, Ms. Andrea Maria Suhl will be a bridge, informing German companies about the advantages, environment, and investment attraction policies of Da Nang.
In addition, it will suggest that German CHLB enterprises that are already present in Vietnam come to Da Nang to study the environment if they need to expand their investment.
