On March 29, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City held a press conference to introduce the basic contents of the 12th Southern Traditional Bread Festival in 2025 with the theme "Conserving and promoting the value of Southern Traditional Bread".
According to the Organizing Committee, the 12th Southern Traditional Bread Festival in 2025 will take place from April 4 to 8 at Binh Thuy District Square (Can Tho City).

The festival is held with a scale of about 231 booths including folk cake space (118 booths); regional specialty space (59 booths); culinary space (40 booths) with the participation of 18 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta (MD) and the Northern, Central and Central Highlands provinces.
In addition to the trading and trading booths, the Organizing Committee also arranged a space to open cakes, recreate Thuan Hung rice paper village (Thot Not district, Can Tho city) along with a tour guide to make some Southern folk cakes for tourists and students to participate in the experience. The bonsai ornamental plant competition and display area organized by the Department of Agriculture and Environment at the festival is expected to have more than 50 works participating in the exhibition and competition.
The Organizing Committee also emphasized that this year's festival will have the appearance of the "super giant" banh xeo and the largest banh chung in the Mekong Delta. This year's "super-huge" banh xeo will be larger than the banh xeo at the 2024 Southern Traditional Bread Festival. It is even more special when the filling of the banh xeo will have 100 more Nha Trang lobsters.
Meanwhile, the giant banh chung will be 0.8 m thick, weighing over 300 kg, cooked and wrapped by about 20 artisans of the Can Tho Professional Chefs Association.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep - Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee - said that this year, the Organizing Committee will reduce the booth rental fee by 25% compared to 2024. This is a new highlight of the festival to create conditions for artisans to participate and create many new types of folk cakes and cuisines. Thereby, contributing to increasingly enhancing the cultural value of the Southern Traditional Bread Festival...
Regarding the situation of "ripping off" parking fees, the Head of the Festival Organizing Committee also informed that Binh Thuy District has deployed 6 parking lots with bidding. The Organizing Committee went directly to the parking lots to survey. The locations are arranged at the gateways leading to the festival venue.
Accordingly, Ms. Diep has directed the disclosure and listing of prices at parking lots. At the same time, Binh Thuy District is directed to propagate to people not to set up spontaneous parking lots and will strictly handle violations according to the law.
