The launch of this QR code payment service by Shinhan Bank is consistent with and closely follows the contents of the Vietnam Banks Association on accelerating bilateral retail payments via QR codes between countries in the region; as well as the State Bank's policy of promoting cashless payments, demonstrating the Bank's efforts to accelerate digital transformation.
QR code payment service not only helps customers save time but also increases convenience and safety in transactions.
Customers can easily scan the QR code from Shinhan Bank's Shinhan SOL Vietnam digital banking application to make payment transactions at points of sale in Thailand and Cambodia quickly and efficiently.
A representative of Shinhan Bank Vietnam said: “The implementation of QR code payment in Thailand and Cambodia provides customers with another convenient form of payment, promoting cashless payments. The launch of this service not only helps Shinhan Bank expand its customer network but also contributes to promoting the digital economy in the markets where the Bank operates.”
Shinhan Bank has affirmed its position in the Vietnamese market, not only by providing traditional banking services but also by applying modern technology. To date, the digitization rate of banking transactions at Shinhan Bank has reached approximately 90%. Digitalized banking services account for over 50% of total banking services.
