Quang Ninh prevents more than 2 tons of food of unknown origin from being released on the market

Quang Ninh - In the second half of April and early May 2025 alone, the authorities discovered, seized and destroyed more than 2 tons of food of unknown origin.

At around 10:00 p.m. on May 9, working group No. 16 of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3, Traffic Police Department of Quang Ninh Province Police discovered a truck with license plate 14C-218.XX moving from Mong Cai center to Tra Co ward with suspicious signs, so they stopped it for inspection.

During the inspection, the working group discovered about 300kg of dried pork intestines in the truck's belly.

At the time of inspection, the driver, B.V.C (born in 1973, residing in Mong Cai City), could not present documents or invoices proving the origin of the goods on the vehicle.

The working group has drawn up a record of the incident and handed over the vehicle and goods to Market Management Team No. 4 - Quang Ninh Provincial Market Management Department for verification, clarification and handling in accordance with the provisions of law.

On May 5, in Ha Long City, the Economic Police Department and Market Management Team No. 5 inspected the business household of Ms. B.T.T (born in 1994) and discovered nearly 600kg of food of unknown origin such as cheese, sausage, chicken feet...

Previously, on April 29, the authorities discovered that the business establishment of Ms. N.T.H (born in 1960) in Bai Chay ward, Ha Long city had more than 1.1 tons of un paper cold-fried food.

Bai H said that he had bought these foods floating on the market to resell to people in need in Ha Long City and neighboring localities. All goods do not have documents proving their origin.

From April 22 to 26, Market Management Team No. 1 coordinated with the interdisciplinary inspection and handling of 4 violations of smuggled food of unknown origin, worth more than 377 million VND. Of which, there were 3 cases of Facebook business.

The authorities have destroyed 5,823 smuggled food products including: sausages, dried braised fish, radishes, tofu, soaked duck feet, quick-eaten chicken feet, sponge cake, milk tea, amber candy... smuggled worth 93,206,000 VND.

At SK Ky Bao Ha Long store (Ha Long City), the Market Management Team and the Customs Control Team - Customs Branch of Region VIII inspected and discovered and temporarily detained 255 products worth VND 284,400,000, including 250 smuggled NH right hand foods and 40.5 kg of cranberries, lily flower spores, To Nu ginseng, cat apples and dried chickenhua with unknown origin.

The entire case is being finalized and handled according to the provisions of law.
