Saigon Co.op focuses all its efforts on supporting the North

Typhoon No. 3 Yagi and floods have severely affected several northern provinces, leading to disruptions in the supply chain and transportation of goods, especially essential goods.

These days, Saigon Co.op's Northern Distribution Center (in Bac Ninh) is always in the most urgent state, operating continuously 24/7 with the task of processing and coordinating goods. A large number of transport vehicles from other centers have also been urgently directed by Saigon Co.op to the North to carry out the task of increasing the amount of stock many times compared to normal days.

Up to now, the unit has prepared more than 200 tons of leafy vegetables and fruits including water spinach, sweet cabbage, squash, cabbage, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, bell pepper, gourd, pumpkin, grapefruit, banana, mango, watermelon, cantaloupe, orange... from suppliers in Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Da Lat, some provinces in the Southwest and will transport continuously from the South to the North. For livestock and poultry meat, suppliers will deliver products directly to supermarkets to maintain freshness according to Co.opmart's instructions.

In addition to specialized vehicles and insulated vehicles, Saigon Co.op Distribution Center flexibly uses compact trucks to move quickly on flooded roads, ensuring that food delivered to consumers is always of the best quality.

At each point of sale, Co.opmart has increased service hours, assigned staff to be on duty at shelves, cashiers, warehouses, etc. to support customers in shopping conveniently and quickly. The supermarket also strives to deliver online orders within the day. For areas that are being isolated, Co.opmart is discussing with customers to find the most convenient delivery solution.

In addition to ensuring the supply of goods, ensuring food hygiene and safety and stable prices, Co.opmart continues to offer promotions from 15% - 35% on essential items.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saigon Co.op also pays special attention to supporting the people: “Coop.mart supermarkets, Cood.Food stores, and Northern Distribution Centers proactively participate with localities and organizations to ensure timely and reliable supply of goods to customers and people in need of support; prepare plans to transport goods to highland, remote, and disadvantaged areas as required. The Co.opmart system in the Northern region cooperates with the Central Red Cross Society and volunteer organizations to transport goods to localities affected by floods and landslides. In localities where Co.opmart is located, Co.opmart employees are ready to coordinate with local authorities and organizations to design essential support programs, participate in or organize relief trips for households.

In the three most affected localities, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, and Hai Phong, Co.opmart has flexibly opened its doors to welcome people to take shelter from storms and floods, charge phones, and provide free drinking water. The Co.op Cares program has given 1,000 support packages including essential products to people in difficult circumstances in the three above-mentioned localities.
