On April 23, in Krong Buk district, the Department of Science and Technology of Dak Lak province announced the collective trademark "Krong Buk durian", issued by the Department of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology).
This is the fourth locality in Dak Lak province to be granted a collective trademark for durian products. The certification is valid for 10 years and is an important legal basis for the district to continue developing the brand, while enhancing the value of durian products on the market.
Currently, Krong Buk district has more than 4,500 hectares of durian growing area, of which about 2,700 hectares are being harvested, with an estimated output of 44,000 tons per year.
In the district, there are 7 cooperatives and 1 production cooperative group according to VietGAP standards, 17 growing areas with codes and 3 packaging facilities for export.
Mr. Hoang Kien Cuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong Buk district, emphasized: " being recognized as a trademark not only enhances the responsibility of manufacturers in meeting market requirements, but also contributes to enhancing the value of local durian for both domestic and export markets".
He also said that the district will promote the propaganda work about the brand "Krong Buk durian", while applying scientific and technical advances in cultivation.
The use of pesticides, fertilizers, harvested and preserved will be strictly implemented, complying with current regulations to ensure product quality and reputation.
Dak Lak has identified 7 durian growing areas. Krong Buk is the 4th unit to build a collective durian brand.
In addition to Krong Buk, 3 other districts in Dak Lak own durian collective trademarks: Krong Pac, Cu M'Gar and Krong Nang.
