The collection "Echo and LanV" by designer Ngoc Lan was launched in a series of activities of the exhibition "Echo - From the Nine Urns of the Nguyen Dynasty to contemporary creation", inspired by the relief of the Nine Urns placed in the courtyard of the Imperial Citadel - Hue Imperial City.
The collection includes 36 designs such as ao dai, dresses, cloaks, scarves... completed on traditional velvet and silk materials of Nha Xa weaving village with hand-embroidered motifs using shimmering, colorful silk threads.
Designer Ngoc Lan said that when she started designing costumes based on the Nine Dynastic Urns, she faced many challenges in order to help the ancient motifs be applied smoothly on embroidered costumes. "The more I look, the more I feel the grace hidden in the motifs, from which the poetic patterns of flowers, clouds, water waves... appear in my mind," Ngoc Lan shared.
