The international scientific conference "Vietnamese Culture from Indigenous to Global: Preserving, Creating and Spreading Humanitarian Values" gathers about 250 scientists, scholars, experts, researchers, lecturers, research students and domestic and international students.

247 papers on Vietnamese culture
The conference received 247 papers in Vietnamese and English from the domestic and international academic community. After a process of criticism, classification and editing, the Organizing Committee selected 148 papers to be published in the Conference Yearbook with ISBN code.
The number of papers shows the interest of researchers in Vietnamese culture, and at the same time opens up many approaches to culture, history, education, language and human values in the context of international integration and digital transformation.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc - Rector of Van Hien University - emphasized that Vietnamese culture is formed from the depth of indigenous culture, and is constantly nurtured through the process of exchange and adaptation with cultures in the region and the world.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Vietnamese civilization is not only values preserved from the past but also needs to be recognized in its ability to inherit, create and transform into a development resource in contemporary life.
From this approach, the conference creates an inter-disciplinary exchange space between literature, history, culture, linguistics, philosophy, education, tourism, cultural industry and social sciences - humanities.
Three approaches to Vietnamese civilization
The workshop was deployed with three topics.
The first topic focuses on "Vietnamese Culture - Identity and Indigenous Foundation in the Historical Process", clarifying the formation and development process of indigenous values, cultural identity and Vietnamese heritage.
The studies address many issues such as Vietnam-Korea cultural cooperation in cultural industry development, folk painting heritage, indigenous mythology, digital transformation and heritage positioning on digital human maps.
The second topic with the theme "Language, literature and cultural discourse in building Vietnamese identity" focuses on analyzing the role of language, literature and cultural discourse in preserving memories, conveying values and rebuilding national identity.
The presentations discussed teaching and learning Vietnamese abroad, cultural contact between East and West through Quoc Ngu script, heritage interpretation in tourism, and the adaptation of stage aesthetics and medieval literature.
Notably, Prof. Dr. Tahara Hiroki - former Attaché of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, cultural research expert at Nihon University - presented research on health care for elderly Vietnamese people in Japan from a linguistic and cultural perspective.
Research shows that language and cultural differences can affect the health care of elderly people of Vietnamese origin in Japan, thereby posing a requirement to build care models suitable to the cultural and communication characteristics of the expatriate Vietnamese community.
The third topic "Exchange, Adaptation and Cultural Dialogue - Vietnam in Regional and Global Interaction" focuses on the process of Vietnamese culture exchanging, adapting and dialoguing with cultures in the region and internationally.
The studies mention the spread of prehistoric musical heritage through stone instruments, community knowledge through Pao Dung singing, "localization" university models, positioning national brands through cinema, literature and developing living heritage tourism.
Connecting academia, spreading the values of Vietnamese culture
From many perspectives, the presentations at the conference showed that Vietnamese civilization is a system of values that always moves in the relationship between tradition and modernity, indigenous and global, preservation and creation.
Not only focusing on heritage research, the conference also expanded to issues related to contemporary life such as education, tourism, cultural industry, digital transformation and international exchange.
This is also an opportunity for scientists, experts and research institutions at home and abroad to strengthen academic exchange, share research results and seek new directions for cooperation in the fields of culture, education and social sciences - humanities.
With the organization of international-scale conferences, Van Hien University continues to promote the orientation of linking training with scientific research, connecting domestic and international knowledge, and creating a forum for Vietnamese cultural, educational and human values to be studied, exchanged and spread more widely.
In the coming time, the school said it will continue to accompany scientists, experts and domestic and international partners to promote research activities, academic exchange and application of research results into practice.
