Saint-Gobain Vietnam pioneers in developing many light, sustainable, high-performance construction materials to serve the market. Not stopping there, Saint-Gobain Vietnam continues to take the lead in reducing emissions from the production process, through the choice of using LNG instead of fossil fuels.
Saint-Gobain Vietnam will install an LNG-compatible production system at the Hai Phong plant from April 2025, aiming to convert to 100% LNG in production by the end of 2025.
Mr. Dang Minh Phuong, Executive Director of Saint-Gobain in the North, said: The LNG purchase agreement for industrial production is an important milestone, emphasizing Saint-Gobain's commitment to proactively applying "clean energy" solutions in light and green materials production. Through the choice of greening production, we believe that we can inspire the construction materials industry in Vietnam, minimizing carbon footprints throughout the product life cycle.
Currently, Saint-Gobain complies with the global corporation's general sustainability goals such as: by 2030, reducing 33% of direct CO2 emissions at construction sites and indirect CO2 emissions in production, reducing 16% of CO2 emissions in the value chain of products, etc.
