On the morning of October 31, Kien Giang Provincial Police organized the second voluntary blood donation program in 2024. This is also a practical activity to implement a special emulation campaign to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection.
With the motto "Donate blood to save people - Please do not be indifferent", 350 police officers and soldiers from departments under Kien Giang Police directly participated in donating blood. This is a program organized by the Youth Union of Kien Giang Provincial Police to contribute to meeting the blood needs for treatment of patients at the Provincial General Hospital and medical facilities. Thereby, it also demonstrates the spirit and responsibility of the Youth Union members and People's Police youth towards the community.
Lieutenant Colonel Truong Van Quoc - Head of the Youth Department of Kien Giang Provincial Police - shared: Voluntary blood donation is a tradition of the police youth of the whole province, aiming to promote the spirit of volunteering to donate blood. This is also an action demonstrating the social responsibility of the youth towards the cause of caring for and protecting the health of the community. The youth of Kien Giang Provincial Police will continue to maintain this activity regularly, demonstrating the spirit of the brave, humane People's Police soldiers, serving the people.
During this campaign, officers, soldiers and members of the Kien Giang Provincial Police Department donated 334 units of blood. Combined with the amount of blood donated directly before, nearly 690 units of blood have been donated so far in 2024.
