On June 5, Hung Yen Provincial Police said that the Criminal Judgment Enforcement and Judicial Assistance Department of the Provincial Police had just successfully arrested a dangerous wanted subject after nearly 2 years on the run.
The arrested subject is Nguyen Dong Nam (born in 1991, residing in Me So commune, Hung Yen province), arrested under the arrest warrant of the Investigation Police Agency of the former Van Giang District Police for the crime of Intentionally causing injury.
Previously, Nguyen Dong Nam was a subject specializing in usury, debt collection and protection for karaoke bars and was the one who directed his subordinates to stab and slash, causing victims to injure 37%.
Immediately after committing the crime and fleeing the locality, on July 28, 2024, Nguyen Dong Nam was issued a dangerous wanted warrant by the Investigation Police Agency of Van Giang District (old). During the time of hiding, Nam frequently changed his residence, limited contact with people around and used many tricks to hide his whereabouts, causing difficulties for the verification and arrest of functional forces.
On June 4, the Task Force of the Criminal Judgment Enforcement and Judicial Assistance Department of the Provincial Police successfully arrested Nguyen Dong Nam.
Immediately after escorting the subject to headquarters, the unit proceeded to make a record of arresting the wanted person in accordance with the law. At the same time, handed over the file and subject to the Criminal Police Department of Hung Yen Provincial Police for further investigation and strict handling before the law.
