According to the investigation results, on November 19, 2025, Nguyet Hoa Ward Police conducted a drug test on Thach Ngoc Thuan's body and gave a positive result for drugs (methamphetamine type). At the police station, Thuan confessed that on November 18, he and his friend used methamphetamine at home.

It is known that after complying with the compulsory detoxification decision and returning to the locality, on September 24, 2024, the Chairman of Ward 8 People's Committee, Tra Vinh City, Tra Vinh Province (now Nguyet Hoa Ward, Vinh Long Province) issued a decision to manage after detoxification at the place of residence for Thach Ngoc Thuan, for a term of 2 years.
