On July 11, Duc Trong Commune Police said that they had coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police to investigate and clarify a motorbike theft case that occurred in Chi Rong village.
Previously, on July 9, Duc Trong Commune Police received a report from Ms. B.N.R. Y (born in 1995, residing in Chi Rong village) about being broken into and having her Honda Winner motorbike with license plate 49E1-520.17 stolen while parked in the vegetable garden area.
Immediately after receiving the report, the police force organized verification, investigation and identified the suspect as N.H. V (born 1995, residing in hamlet 3, Duc Trong commune), and took him to the headquarters to work.
At the police station, N.H. V confessed that he took advantage of the moment when the car was parked in the vegetable garden without anyone watching to use a lock pick to break the lock and steal it.
After that, V took the motorbike back to remove the license plate, dismantle some external parts to change the identifying characteristics and use it as a means of transportation.
The police agency also determined that the subject had a previous conviction for the crime of "Illegally possessing narcotics", served his prison sentence in 2025 and has not been expunged from his criminal record.
Currently, the case is being further investigated and clarified by the police agency for handling according to the provisions of law.
