On the afternoon of August 26, Can Tho City Police informed that Cai Rang Ward Police coordinated with the Office of the Can Tho City Police Investigation Agency to successfully arrest Ho Nhu Y, a dangerous wanted subject for the crime of "Intentionally causing injury".
According to Can Tho City Police, Ho Nhu Y (born in 1991), is the subject who was issued Wanted Decision No. 7135 dated July 31, 2025 by the Can Tho City Police Investigation Agency for the crime of "Intentionally causing injury".
This is a subject with many previous convictions and criminal records; after being wanted, Y left the locality, frequently changed his residence and continuously moved through many areas to hide his whereabouts and evade detection by the police force.
Determining that the quick arrest of the subject is an urgent requirement to serve the investigation, handling and prevention of the risk of continuing to commit crimes, Cai Rang Ward Police in coordination with the Office of the Investigation Police Agency have proactively reviewed the relationships and locations where the subject is likely to hide.
At the same time, collecting, comparing information and synchronously deploying professional measures. Based on the collected documents, the police force gradually determined the direction of movement and hiding place of Ho Nhu Y in Tay Ninh province.
Immediately after discovering important clues, Cai Rang Ward Police coordinated with the Office of the Investigation Police Agency to urgently develop a strict arrest plan, ensuring professional requirements and safety for participating forces as well as people.
At about 11:45 am on August 25, 2026, coordinated forces of Duc Lap Commune Police (Tay Ninh province) discovered, controlled and successfully arrested Ho Nhu Y when the subject was hiding in the area.
Currently, Cai Rang Ward Police are temporarily detaining suspect Ho Nhu Y to continue investigating, consolidating the file, and handling according to the provisions of law.
In the first 8 months of 2026, Can Tho City had 299 wanted subjects; the City Police force arrested 104 subjects, a decrease of 22.2% compared to the beginning of the period, exceeding the target assigned by the Ministry of Public Security.
