Arresting a robber who snatched property from a woman selling cakes

An Giang - After robbing property, the subject took it home to hide, changed clothes and continued to work when he was discovered and arrested by the police.

On April 4, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police issued a decision to temporarily detain suspect Truong Cong Thung (born in 1980, permanently residing in Binh Hoa commune, An Giang province) to investigate the act of robbery.

Previously, Tan Hoi Commune Police received a report from Ms. T.T. H. P (born in 1975, residing in Tan Hoi commune) about being robbed of property in the area near bridge 600. The stolen property included a wallet containing about 2 million VND and some personal papers.

Immediately after receiving the report, Tan Hoi Commune Police urgently deployed forces, applying professional measures to verify and investigate. Determining that the subject had moved to the border area of Thoai Son commune, the police forces of the two communes coordinated to organize a trace.

The police force discovered the suspect driving a motorbike on a road section in Trung Binh hamlet, Thoai Son commune, with similar characteristics, so they proceeded to invite him to work.

At the police station, Thung confessed to the crime. Because he needed money to spend, the subject drove a motorbike to find loopholes in people's houses to commit theft. When he reached the road section in Tan Phat B hamlet, Tan Hoi commune, he discovered a woman riding a bicycle selling cakes, holding a handbag in her hand, the subject approached, snatched property and quickly left the scene.

After that, the subject returned home to hide the money, changed clothes and continued to work when he was discovered and arrested by the police force.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police continues to consolidate the file and handle it according to the provisions of law.
