Provincial Party Secretary inspects and surveys in the most remote island commune of Kien Giang

Kien Giang - The delegation inspected, surveyed and worked with agencies and units in Tho Chau island commune (Phu Quoc city).

On May 12, a working delegation of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee led by Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai inspected, surveyed and worked with agencies and units in Tho Chau island commune (Phu Quoc city).

Participating in the delegation were Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Giang Thanh Khoa, Secretary of Phu Quoc City Party Committee Le Quoc Anh.

In the working program, the delegation visited and burned incense at Tho Chau temple - the place of worship of President Ho Chi Minh, the heroic martyrs sacrificed in the liberation of the island and commemorating the 500 people who were massacred by the Red Khmer in 1975. This is a red address, with profound historical value, expressing gratitude and the morality of "drinking the source memory" of the Party Committee and the people of Kien Giang province.

The delegation conducted a field survey at the A1 facility on Hon Nhan and some key areas of national defense, security, economy - society in Tho Chau commune; worked with the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of the commune to grasp the local development situation and listen to recommendations and proposals from the facility.

Speaking at the meeting with the Party Committee of Tho Chau Commune and the armed forces stationed in the area, Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai sent a visit and wishes health to the armed forces and people who are clinging day and night, building island commune with the spending position of the country. He praised the spirit of solidarity and efforts to overcome difficulties of cadres, soldiers and people in the island commune in recent years.

He emphasized that Tho Chau is a commune with a small area and a small population. Since the Government issued the decree to establish the commune, despite many difficulties, the armed forces, cadres, soldiers and people here have always been united, supported each other, and carried out the task of firmly protecting the sacred seas and islands of the Fatherland.

The armed forces not only do a good job of national defense but also support people's livelihoods. From a few early households to now, hundreds of households have settled down and have gradually developed stably.

The Provincial Party Secretary suggested the need for close coordination between Party committees, authorities, armed forces and people to ensure national defense and security, support each other in life and sustainable socio-economic development in the future...
