On August 18, information from Can Tho City Police said that during the patrol and control to ensure traffic safety and order, Working Group No. 10 and No. 11 of My Xuyen Traffic Police Station of the Traffic Police Department discovered and arrested a subject for illegal possession of drugs.
Specifically, at around 6:55 p.m. on August 17, 2025, while patrolling on Tran Hung Dao Street towards National Highway 1A, My Xuyen Ward, the police discovered Huynh Hoai Tan (born in 1988), residing in Soc Trang Ward, driving a motorbike with license plate 75K1-8346 with suspicious signs. Seeing the working group, Tan accelerated and ran away. Immediately, the authorities deployed a chase, used professional measures to control and stop the vehicle for inspection.
Through inspection, Tan was found to have 2 plastic bags containing white solid crystals suspected to be crystal meth on him. The working group detained the people and the vehicle.
The case has been handed over to My Xuyen Ward Police for further investigation, clarification and handling in accordance with legal regulations.
