On July 16, Vinh Long Provincial Police said they had removed large-capacity pumps on 3 wooden boats and administratively fined the drivers for violating waterway traffic.
Previously, at around 5:25 a.m. on July 15, while patrolling the Co Chien River through Tan Vinh Thuan Hamlet, Tan Ngai Ward, the Traffic Police Department's Working Group discovered two wooden boats without registration numbers, so they requested to stop for inspection.
Through inspection, the two people directly controlled the two wooden boats were Thai Hoang Nam, born in 1978 and Mr. Thai Hoang Van, born in 1999, both residing in Nhon Phu commune, Vinh Long province.
At the time of inspection, these two people could not present the Vehicle Registration Certificate; Certificate of technical safety and environmental protection; Certificate of professional captaincy, so the patrol team proceeded to draw up a record to handle according to regulations.
It is worth mentioning that all 02 vehicles had large-capacity motorbikes and many equipment used to suck up river sand, so the patrol team brought the vehicle and the driver to the working station, and forced them to remove the large-capacity machine and equipment used to suck up river sand.
Previously, on July 13, Thanh Duc Ward Police handed over a violating wooden boat to the Traffic Police Department for handling. The boat was driven by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Danh, carrying about 30m3 of sand but could not present an invoice when checked on the evening of July 12, and was also forced to remove the sand suction device.
