Fire prevention and fighting (PCCC) work in the last days of the year is receiving special attention in this locality. Because, in Ca Mau recently, there have been at least 2 market fires: The fire at Hon Da Bac market, Tran Van Thoi district at midnight was almost beyond saving. The damage amounted to over 2 billion VND. Recently, on December 3, a fire at a motorbike shop in the center of Thoi Binh market also caused great damage.
In Cai Nuoc district, there are 6 markets with more than 2,000 traders doing business and trading. Fire prevention and fighting work is of special concern as Tet is approaching. Traders at the markets are importing goods to meet the shopping needs of consumers in large quantities.
To help traders raise their awareness of fire prevention and fighting, market management boards in conjunction with functional forces regularly propagate, inspect and remind traders not to be subjective or negligent in on-site fire prevention and fighting work, proactively check electrical wiring systems, circuit breakers, switches and electrical outlets to detect damage early, promptly fix and repair, and prevent electrical contact and short circuit incidents leading to fires.

The management board of markets in Ca Mau strictly prohibits burning incense, cooking at kiosks, because of the potential risk of heat sources that can cause fires at any time. Propaganda for each business and trading establishment to equip at least one portable fire extinguisher, place it in a visible and easy-to-reach place, and instruct members to skillfully use the portable fire extinguisher to respond promptly when a situation occurs.
To ensure effective on-site fire prevention and fighting, the market management board is equipped with specialized fire fighting machines, along with hundreds of meters of fire hoses and portable fire extinguishers; establishes an on-site fire prevention and fighting team, assigns specific and clear tasks to each member, and is ready to respond when a situation occurs according to the motto "4 on-site".
Mr. Mai Tac Long - Captain of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Team of Hung My Commune, Cai Nuoc District - shared: "According to the on-site fire prevention and fighting plan, when a situation arises, we quickly approach the scene, grasp the situation, and use portable fire extinguishers from small traders to handle it. In case of a large fire or fire spreading, we assign forces to transport fire fighting equipment to the scene, immediately carry out fire fighting tasks according to the motto of saving people first and saving valuable assets later."
Proactive fire prevention and fighting before, during and after Tet is continuously directed by Ca Mau province to minimize the occurrence of fires and explosions.
