The content of the document clearly stated: The organization of physical education and sports events at all levels in the province towards the 10th National Sports Festival in 2026 has been approved by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 1254/QD-UBND dated June 25, 2024 (expected to complete the provincial congress in May 2026).
However, on March 11, 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Official Letter No. 974/BVHTTDL-TDTTVN guiding the organization of Sports and Physical Training Festivals at all levels in the new situation. In which, there is a content of "temporarily suspending the organization of district-level physical education and sports events; only organize commune-level physical education and sports events for communes and wards that are not subject to merger or have completed the merger".
Therefore, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee agreed with the proposal of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on temporarily suspending the organization of District and Commune-level Sports and Physical Training Festivals in the province. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is requested to continue to monitor and update the Central Government's guidance documents to organize the Sports Festival in accordance with regulations.

Up to now, in Ca Mau province, 2/100 units of communes, wards and towns have organized grassroots-level physical education and sports events including: Club events in Song Doc town (Tran Van Thoi district) and Tan Duc commune (Dam Doi district).
