On February 4, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police said that the unit has initiated a criminal case, prosecuted defendants and temporarily detained 5 subjects to investigate the acts of buying, selling, storing and illegally using drugs.
The prosecuted subjects include: Luu Thi Cam Nhung, Nguyen Trong Khanh, Nguyen Van Trung (all residing in Tan Lap ward), Hoang Ngoc Ky (residing in Hoa Phu commune) and Nguyen Hoang Phi Hung (residing in Buon Ma Thuot ward).
Initial investigation results determined that, to have money to spend, in the period from July 2025 to mid-January 2026, Nhung repeatedly bought drugs with a total amount of about 12 million VND. After that, Nhung divided them into small packages to sell to addicts for illegal profits.
To avoid being detected, Nhung only sells drugs to acquaintances and requests contact via phone first to verify their identity. After confirmation, addicts will go directly to Nhung's house in Tan Lap ward to receive drugs.
In addition, Nhung also installed many surveillance cameras around the house. At the same time, hired Nguyen Trong Khanh (a neighbor) to perform guarding and guarding duties to cope with functional forces.
Currently, the case is being further investigated by functional agencies to clarify the role of each subject for handling according to the provisions of law.
